PEPC competition assay planning
Reference reconstruction from Main Lab 03. Scheduled area: 102.23 m² · Ceiling: 2.7 m · Three 6000 × 1700 mm bench runs.
Dimensions, assumptions and assay setup
Bench and equipment footprints follow printed dimensions; positions are approximate. The 12128 × 10180 mm rectangular planning envelope includes a provisional 2500 mm lower walkway, widened following the room-layout correction. Its width follows the printed dimension chain. This envelope is not a surveyed boundary and its calculated area differs from the scheduled 102.23 m². Bench heights are assumed to be 900 mm. East perimeter bench uses the plan’s 8633 mm dimension; the schedule says 8640 mm.
Doors, other wall recesses, stools, chemical cabinets, dewars, ice machine and underbench units are not yet modelled. Three bench runs include spine columns and two shelf tiers. Column sizes and shelf elevations are assumed and editable. The central sink includes an inset basin, tap, draining area and base cupboard; basin and tap dimensions are provisional. The wall column occupies the printed 824 mm gap between perimeter benches; its 800 mm projection and full ceiling height are assumptions. Underbench refrigeration counts conflict in the source. Access visualisation is provisional.
PEPC equipment draft: provisional microbial competition workflow, pending the actual protocol. Candidate additions cover Chi.Bio growth monitoring, liquid handling, electroporation, recovery, centrifugation and plate readout, plus cold staging, plate closure, consumables, waste and control PC space. Electroporation is a manual station; automated transfer and robot reach are not yet validated. Existing thermocyclers, balances, sink, refrigeration and general centrifuges remain available. Exact organism, plate format, throughput, containment needs and instrument models must determine the final list. Generic dimensions are labelled as estimates in Properties.
